Consider her Immaculate Conception. It only makes sense that God would have His son born of a sinless woman. To be born of a fallen daughter of Eve would lead to all kinds of doubt concerning the humanity of Christ.
Consider the Annunciation when she agreed to be the mother of God. She said, “Be it done unto me according to your word.” Thus, the Son of God was made incarnate. “Mary is the mother of Him who is the life by which all things live.” —Blessed Guerric
Consider the Visitation to her cousin Elizabeth. This was more than a regular visit for the purpose of getting together. In the Visitation of Mary, the meaning was to share the presence of the Son that she carried in her womb. Here she sang her Magnificat, the great song of joy. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in the Lord God my savior.” The feast of the Visitation is celebrated on May 31.
I can remember when I was a youngster in grade school every classroom had a Mary altar to honor Mary. The song says “Bring flowers of the fairest, bring flowers of the rarest.” We students did just that. We sang Marian hymns while a student crowned her with flowers.
May is a great month as spring blooms in its fullest, but it is also a great month because it honors our Blessed Mother.

Dear Dick,
Would you please tell Mark Philips and the other Brother Knights that I gave out the six beautiful Chalices you gave me last year and the six happy Priests were very grateful, promising to remember the Knight for whom each Chalice was donated. Here is what one young Priest wrote: “I want to express my thanks and my joy - Father Tracy gave me one of the Chalices. He is the founder of this New Life Community and helps us build a New Life free of alcohol. I received the Chalice during our 28th Easter Encounter - with 55 Priests who got sober here in this New Life Community, and we return to celebrate Jesus' Resurrection in our lives as Recovering Alcoholic Priests. God bless you and your Families.”
The Priest who wrote this is Padre José Soares da Silva - Campo Grande, capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Hope to see you all in July. Happy MOTHER'S Day to your Mothers and Wives.
Fr. Bill Tracy, C.Ss.R.
